Join us in Gaeta, a small, old-fashioned town in Lazio, where time has stopped.

Recharge and add sparkle to your Italian

Have you always felt a connection with Italy? Dreamt of living in Italy, walking cobbled streets and sipping coffee while watching people passing by?

Maybe you’ve been working hard at some project and you just want to take time for yourself. You and Italy.

Or you’re tired of never having time for yourself and for your passions and want to give yourself a very special life-changing gift.

You would like to have some quiet time.  In Italy, though. Live your very own dolce vita.

You’re looking to improve your Italian in a different, more beautiful way or maybe you’re just yearning to get out of the tourist bubble and live Italy authentically, be a part of il belpaese.

A place where nobody will answer you in English when you speak to them.

Here’s what you’ll get from the Retreat

No to-do lists. No running around exhausted from one tourist spot to another.

No distractions.

Just gentle laughter over twilight dinners outdoors with friends. In Italian.

At this retreat, you’ll get healthy meals,  journaling classes,  leisurely walks on the beach, aperitivos while watching the fishing boats making their return,  a beautiful bedroom and lounge, shopping for lunch at the weekly market and the world’s best cappuccino.

Did I mention you’ll have plenty of time to take all this in and to spend on yourself?

Together, in Gaeta, in small-town Italy, along the cobbled stone alleys, let’s write a life story that will make you smile years from now.

You’ll leave this retreat feeling comfortable speaking Italian,  recharged and inspired.

Because Italy does that to you. She involves you and makes you feel like you belong with her. And you do.

Push your language skills without losing that vacation feeling

One very important thing was that the Retreat took place in a very small group in such a beautiful place.

It was perfect because I wanted to push my language skills but not lose that vacation feeling. If you want to enjoy a beautiful town in a way normal tourists don’t see it, eat great food, be in nice company and jumpstart your Italian, book this retreat.

Gentle and encouraging atmosphere

I absolutely adored the whole experience. Elfin, who, while strict about us not speaking English, provided a really nice balance between working, taking breaks (as she appreciated how much of a challenge it all was), and was at all times gentle and encouraging

How you’ll be learning Italian

Italian-over-coffee sessions  Short but intense Italian brainstorming sessions. The dolce lingua will have no more mysteries for you and you’ll get all the tools you need to keep on improving your Italian after the retreat is over. You’ll leave feeling empowered and in charge of your progress.

Tourist-no-more walking classes.  Italian culture on the run. While we walk in the sun, through the alleys, along the beach, look at the “ vecchietti” on the benches, do people watching at the market, learn the meaning and true essence of Italian traditions and way of life.

Journaling. Small bite-sized classes to record your retreat and use your memories to add sparkle to your Italian. Laughter and peer feedback included.

Inspiring experiences: sunbathing on the most beautiful beaches. Walks along ancient vicoli. Going to the food markets and overhearing Italians doing their shopping in a very social moment in a small town. Gaze at the view from the falesie right within the town.

Free time. Yes, you’ll get your own alone time.  You’ll have four hours of independent time to wander roads on your own, journal, nap, or simply be alone.

You’ll see that time here in Italy has a different, special taste. Let all you’ve learned sink in, delicately.

Where will all this be taking place

The All About Italian Retreat will take place in Gaeta, a small town by the sea in Lazio. Time has truly stopped here and you’ll truly get a sense of it when you walk the cobble-stoned vicoli and behold the fishermen making their nets.

Nobody will answer you in English when you ask for directions or simply want to chat.

It’s one hour by train from Rome. It’s easy to reach by public transportation and by car. Perfect to continue your own traveling through Italy.

When you join the Retreat, you’ll get all the directions to get there and you can arrange to be picked up if necessary.

How are you supposed to hit the books, anyway? You look at your watch more than you look at your verb table.

This was not what you had in mind for yourself.

Your journey to fluency has to be special and full of meaning and somehow fit in your schedule.

Is that too much to ask?

No, it isn’t.

It’ s possible to learn this beautiful language even on the busiest of days.
